Schoolhouse Quilters is an active quilters club founded in 1994 in Athlone. They currently have 37 active members, whom meet once a month at Athlone Yacht Club.

Exhibiting quilters Nessa Mc Mahon, Jessica Weider, Maureen Feary, Marian O'Brien and Maura O'Faolàin hold additional meetings once a week in Luan Gallery's sister venue Abbey Road Artist's Studios.

School House Quilters is a community group that have hosted several exhibitions in Athlone Library and Luan Gallery's Boardwalk space. They host a successful exhibition every two years, with a quilt made by a member of the group being raffled in aid of local charities.

School House Quilters welcome newcomers to their group with beginners' courses and classes for patchwork techniques.

This current display of work by School House Quilters is a collection of work created by artists Nessa Mc Mahon, Jessica Weider, Maureen Feary, Marian O'Brien and Maura O'Faolàin and Quilted by Frances Flanagan.

The exhibition will be on display along the Boardwalk Gallery space at Luan Gallery until Tuesday 7th April 2020.
