Terrifying Tales at Athlone Castle – Spooky Storytelling for children

Spooky Storytelling for Children at Athlone Castle this Halloween posted: Oct 05

Athlone Castle will host a 'Spooky Storytelling' evening with storyteller Aideen McBride in the upper Keep on Saturday 28th October, with three sessions taking place at 2.00pm, 3.30pm & 5.00pm. The first two sessions will be for children ages 4 – 8 years and the last session will be 8 years and up.

Aideen promises to entertain your 'little monsters' with slightly spooky, family friendly stories which encourage audience participation to get you in the mood for Halloween.

Carmel Duffy Manager of Athlone Arts & Tourism said:

"Athlone Castle is steeped in history.  What better place to spend Halloween than in the ghostly presence of Athlone’s past warriors and heroes. It’ll be a fun evening of storytelling and learning with a few scares along the way! We encourage parents to be sure to pre-book by contacting Athlone Castle in advance as places for this event will be limited".

Prices for story telling event and a visit to the castle visitor centre on the day are:

Adult €6, Student/Senior €4.50, Child (4-15) €3 and Family (2 adults with 1/2 children) €15, (2 adults with 3/4 children) €20. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Price includes admission to the visitor centre. Places are limited and ideally should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.
